Get the skills - grow your business.

Getting started - at school.

Does your school offer entrepreneurship programmes like the Young Enterprise Scheme or have its own impact labs?

These are great programmes to have while at school because it helps to build your mindset and capabilities.

School programmes we know of:

Young Enterprise Scheme - get one of these to your school! Even if it’s just the 3-day challenge - it all helps.

Vaka - check out e-STEAM 101 with 3D printing - it will literally ignite your interest in starting your own business.

Code Avengers - because having the digital skills helps with business and life in general.

Wero Wayfinding - an awesome way to help rangatahi journey through the wonders of entrepreneurship.

Ripyl - building the capabilities for life, work and enterpreneurship.

Left school? But still keen to work on your business?

We found that the best way to get support after high school, is in your local community. Is there a community organisation that offers enterpreneurship or youth business programmes in your area?

We believe that growing your idea within your community provides a safe space for you and your business to grow. Here are some other spaces to explore:

Kings Trust - He Kākano is a programme that has it all including mentoring, networking, and funding. Open to 17 - 30 year olds.

Batch - an accelerator that bridges the Young Enterprise Scheme into other business programmes to keep your journey going.

Getting started - in your community.

Wanting to start a business can happen at 5 or 50 - it doesn’t matter when you start, but it helps if you know where to go! Sometimes, you need the self-confidence to get started, find out the risks, and what’s actually involved before starting a business. We recommend doing a programme so have the ongoing support of others to help you get started.

Programmes to build your confidence and capabilities.
